Agnes M. Nichols
Agnes M. Nichols, age 87 , of Hamburg, New York, formerly of South Main Street, Salamanca, New York died Sunday morning, December 19, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Shirley Stewart Ingersoll, Hamburg, New York.
Born on December 13, 1923 in Bradley Beach, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late William and Fannie Seyler Flood. She was married on January 27, 1946 to Mr. Harold Nichols, who predeceased her on August 17, 1975.
Mrs. Nichols had been employed at the former Brownâ€™s Boot Shop, Salamanca, NY, The Dudley Hotel, and the Salvation Army Thrift store.
She was a former member of the First Congregational Church, Salvation Army Home League for over 50 years, , and Uterpians. She participated in a mission trip to Jamaica.
Surviving are: two sons, William (Dodie) Nichols of Stevensville, Michigan, and Harold (Teri) Nichols of Jamaica; a daughter, Shirley (Ron) Ingersoll of Hamburg; two grandchildren, Tod (Tiffany) Nichols of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Todd (Laurie) Stewart of 240 Highland Avenue, Salamanca; five great-grandchildren, Luke Stewart and Elizabeth Stewart, both of Salamanca, Robin Sylvester, David Sylvester, and Jenny Sylvester, all of Virginia.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Shawn Stewart and a sister, Helen Taggert.
Friends may call at the Oâ€™Rourke & Oâ€™Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday from 7-9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 A.M. in the Victory Tabernacle Church, Cattaraugus, New York with Pastor Cliff Waugh officiating.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
