Mr. Alex Herbach, age 78, of 451 Broad Street, Salamanca, New York formerly of 5263 Kilburne Road, Little Valley, New York, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Olean General Hospital.

Born on November 26, 1928 in Ludlow, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Yustinia Trysczyla Herbach.

Mr. Herbach was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea.

He was employed as a Car Inspector for the B&O Railroad in Salamanca, New York prior to his retirement.

Mr. Herbach was a member of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.

Surviving are: 1 sister Mrs. Sophie (Robert) Dry, 41 Washington Street, Salamanca, New York; and several neices and nephews.

He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mary Damon and Helen Herbach and 1 brother, Michael Herbach.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Michael Peters of Koinonia Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York, where full military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
