Brenda L. Rinko

Brenda L. Rinko, 68, of Kill Buck, NY died Tuesday evening, January 4, 2022 at her daughter’s home following a long illness.

Born April 25, 1953 in Salamanca, NY she was the daughter of the late William and Ellodene Case Grey. She was married to Joseph Rinko, who predeceased her in 1985.

Brenda was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Heron Clan.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1971.

She had been employed as a clerk with the former Biscup’s Hardware in Ellicottville, NY for almost five years and had previously been employed with McCrory in Salamanca, NY as well as Cattaraugus County Social Services.

She enjoyed being with family and friends and the outdoors. She also enjoyed her many animals as well as crafting and doll collecting.

Surviving are: her daughter, Shane Rinko-Smith, East Otto, NY; her longtime companion, Jeff Breeden, Kill Buck, NY; her son-in-law, Bill Smith, East Otto, NY; four sisters, L. Sue Grey, Glenda Grey, Rhonda Grey, Chanda Grey, all of Kill Buck, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday January 8, 2022 from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 2pm with Pastor Paul Cobo of the Brooklyn Free Methodist Church, East Otto, officiating.

Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the East Otto Fire Department’s Ambulance Fund, 8990 Reed Hill Road, Cattaraugus, NY 14719.
