Bruce Plunkett, age 46, of Woodland Drive North, Great Valley, New York died Tuesday morning, June 24, 2008 in Valhalla, New York as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born on March 2, 1962 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of Romaine (Charles) Woodarek Case, Cattaraugus, New York and Herbert (Thelma) Plunkett, Gasport, New York. He was married to the former Valerie Curtis, Great Valley, New York who survives.
Mr. Plunkett was a graduate of Salamanca High School Class of 1980, He received his AAS Degree from Alfred State College in 1982 and he received his BPS in Architecture from the University at Buffalo in 1986, and was a licensed Architect in New York State and Vermont.
He was employed by New York State as a Code Compliance Specialist I. Previously he had been employed by the City of Salamanca as a Code Enforcement/Assessor and he had worked for 4 architectural firms in the area.
Mr. Plunkett was a member of the American Institute of Architects, National, State, Buffalo/Western New York Member, Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors, NYS Association and National Life Member, New York State Fire Academy, and the Holy Cross Athletic Club.
Surviving besides his wife and parents are: 2 daughters, Danielle Plunkett, North Carolina, Joelle Plunkett, Great Valley, New York; 2 sisters, Elaine Plunkett, Bradford, Pa., Tina Plunkett, Lockport, New York; 2 brothers, David (Audrey) Plunkett, Simi Valley, Ca, Dean (Yvette) Plunkett, Randolph, New York; a half brother, Terry Plunkett, Tonawanda, New York; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Saturday evening (June 28, 2008) from 2 -4 & 7 - 8 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held with Pastor Sam Stull of the Free Methodist Church officiating.
