Mr. Celand Printup, age 80, of Fair Oak Street, Salamanca, New York died Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013 shortly after being admitted to Olean General Hospital, olean, New York.
Born on March 30, 1932 in Red House, New York he was the son of the late Ulyssess and Clara John Printup. He was married in 1979 in Clarence, New York to the former Ann Kellogg Engels who survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Printup was a member of the International Iron Workers Local #6, Buffalo, New York for over 30 years retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Hawk Clan and had been employed with the Seneca Nation of Indians Clerks Office. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating.
Surviving besides his wife are: 3 sons, Scott Printup, Hamburg, New York, Michael Printup, Horse Heads, New York, Brian Printup, Massena, New York; a daughter, Dana Weise, Hamburg, New York; 3 stepsons, John (Joann) Engels, Rochester, NY, Edward (Renee) Engels, Elmira, NY, Andrew (Cheryl) Engels, Newtown, CT; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Anna Miller, Salamanca, New York; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Ardra Chew, 3 brothers, Wayne Printup, Gordon Printup, and Linworth "Lindy" Printup.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Friday from 2 â€“ 4 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Marvin Abrams of the Jimersontown Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Steamburg Cemetery, Steamburg, New York.
