Charles Woodworth

Mr. Charles Woodworth, age 75, of 136 River Street, Salamanca, New York died Tuesday, December 12, 2007 shortly after being admitted to Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.

Born on January 31, 1932 in Little Valley, New York he was the son of the late Leroy and Genevieve Reynolds Woodworth. He was married on October 27, 1979 to the former Bettina Noll Steinemann who survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as a Civil Engineer from 1950-1954. He remained in the reserves serving with the 914th civil engineering squadron, Niagara Falls, NY retiring in 1988.

Mr. Woodworth was employed as a Industrial Engineer at Signores, Inc. for over 40 years prior to his retirement in 1996.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ellicottville, New York, Holy Cross Athletic Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296, American Legion Hughes Skiba Post 535 Past member IOOB Frankinville Chapter and Jaycees.

Surviving are: 3 sons, Raymond Woodworth, Killbuck, NY, Roland (Cara) Steinemann, Syracuse, NY; 1 daughter, Kimberly Woodworth, Salamanca, NY; 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters Shirley Ullman, Salamanca, NY, Mary (Greg) Krantz, Saginaw, Texas and Ida Woodworth, Salamanca, NY;2 brothers, Eugene (Margaret) Woodworth, Great Valley, New York, Douglas (Sharon) Woodworth, Allegany, New York; and a very dear special friend Selma Chapman; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter Janine Duhan; one son Edwin Woodworth, a brother James Woodworth and a sister Alice Hutchison.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. on Monday in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (December 18, 2007) at 11:00 A.M. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. William Kay pastor officiating.

Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Ellicottville, New York.
