Clara Springer Harold Exner

Clara Springer Harold Exner, age 100, of Hornell, New York, left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, August 29, 2007.

Clara was born on March 23, 1907 in Custer City, Pa. to the late Norman H. Springer and Minnie Hutchinson Springer. A loving wife and mother, she was a long time resident of Salamanca, Ny. She married Ralph Walter Harold on November 3, 1926.

Clara had a life-long love of music and she played the piano with a dance band called "No-Go-Homers" from the late 1920's through the early 1940's. Clara enjoyed being active in a number of fraternal organizations, as a member of the Salamanca Eastern Star she held most of the offices.

Clara and her husband Ralph were also very active in the Salamanca Volunteer Firemen. The attended area, county and regional Fireman Conventions and holiday parades for years. Clara held most of the officer positions in the Ladies Auxiliary, including President. She was also an active member of the former Salamanca Moose Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband Ralph W. Harold; her brother Ralph Springer; her son Allen D. Harold; her grandson Eric M. Harold; her twin great grandchildren Casey and Molly Beyler; and also her late husband William P. Exner.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Monte and Carol Harold of Norris, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Emilie Harold, Englewood, Fla; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step children and step grandchildren.

Friends may call on Friday from 1-3 P.M. at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York a which time funeral and committal services will be held with Pastor Joshua Schallert of the United Congregational Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the St. James Mercy Foundation for Mcauley Manor, Hornell, New York.
