Dana Ross, age 28, of 359 East State Street, Salamanca, New York died Wednesday morning, May 4, 2011, at his home following a long illness.
Born on June 18, 1982 in Olean, New York he was the son of Charlotte (Paul Van Curen) McElfresh Ross, 359 East State Street, Salamanca, New York and the late Timothy Ross.
Dana attended Salamanca Central High School where he played football and basketball.
He was employed with Post Smokes, Salamanca, New York for over 2 years prior to his illness.
Dana was an avid sports fan who followed the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Yankees, Chicago Bulls, and Buffalo Sabres. He also enjoyed the U.F.C.
Surviving besides his mother are: 2 brothers, Darren (Melanie) Ross, Salamanca, New York, Dustin "Dud" Ross, Salamanca, New York; a nephew, Jaxson Ross, and a niece, Charli Mae Ross; 2 uncles, Dan (Debby) Ross, Atlanta, Georgia, David McElfresh, Salamanca, New York; a special aunt, Bev Lounsbury, Salamanca, New York; his soul mate, Jessica Peters, Buffalo, New York; 2 special friends, Chris Drugg and Tony Stahlman .
Memorial visitation will be held in United Congregational Methodist Church on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 10 to 11 A.M. at which time a memorial service will be held with Winfield Bowen officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
