David C. John
David C. John, 73, of Cassadaga, NY, formerly of Great Valley, New York died suddenly Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his home.
Born December 25, 1941 in Salamanca, New York, he was the son of the late Elwood and Berdena Jimerson John. He was married to Cynthia Faith, who survives.
Mr. John was employed as a supervisor of the Bridge Crew for the NYS DOT in Sherman, New York and had previously worked out of the Little Valley barns.
He was known for his welding and his love for his dogs.
Surviving are: three sons, Nicholas (Elise) John, Raleigh, NC, Scott (Laurie) John, Great Valley, NY, Dana (Ryanne) John, Great Valley, NY ; a daughter. Maureen (Michael) Dittman, Salamanca NY ; a stepson, Marlowe Reuther, Cassadaga, NY; 9 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Bixler, Salamanca, NY, Mary Jane (Steve) Block, Steamburg, NY; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the home of his son, Scott John, 5960 Peth Road, Great Valley on Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. John Walter, pastor of God's Missionary Church, officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, New York.
