Mrs. Dolores E. Sullivan, age 81, of Front Avenue, Salamanca, New York died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, New York following a brief illness.
Born on April 6, 1931 in Connellsville, PA she was the daughter of the late George & Mary Cochick Wardzella. She was married on June 18, 1960 in St. Paul's Cathedral in Pittsburgh, PA to Mr. Harry Sullivan who predeceased her on March 1, 2012.
She was a Registered Nurse graduating from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA.
Mrs. Sullivan had been employed as a Registered Nurse at both Mercy Hospital and Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Also, she had been employed at the former Salamanca Trust Company.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. She enjoyed doing puzzles and baking for her family.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mary (Edward) Van Dusen; 2 sons, Patrick Sullivan, David (Catherine) Sullivan; 4 grandchildren, Austin Van Dusen, John Van Dusen, Maureen Sullivan, and Meredith Sullivan.
She was predeceased by an infant son, Matthew Sullivan and a brother, George Wardzella.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Sunday from 3-5 P.M.
A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Monday morning at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, New York.
The family suggests memorials to the donor's choice.
