Mr. Donald Dry, age 76 ,Salamanca, New York died Monday, November 24, 2014 following a short illness.
Born on July 31, 1938 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late John & Agnes Ambuske Dry. He was married on February 3, 1962 to the former Janice Frank who survives.
Mr. Dry was employed by the City of Salamanca for 25 years retiring in August 2000.
He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Holy Cross Athletic Club where he served several terms as past President, Sons of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535.
Surviving besides his wife are: 2 sons, James M. (Sharon) Dry, Williamsville, New York, Jay S. (Kelly) Dry, Lockport, New York; a daughter, Darlene A. (Guy) Thomas, Hamburg, New York; 7 grandchildren, Samantha Dry, Abigail Dry, Jay Dry Jr., Connor Dry, Margretta Dry, Isabel Thomas, Emma Thomas; 4 brothers, Ted “Joby” (Mary Ann) Dry, Victor (Fay) Dry, David (Barb) Dry, all of Salamanca, New York, Joseph (Wanda) Dry, Little Valley, New York; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Thomas Dry, Paul “Pope” Dry, Robert Dry, and a sister Barbara Onuffer.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, as celebrant.
Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Roswell Memorial Park Cancer Institute.
