Doris Evans Feinberg, age 95, of Front Avenue, Salamanca, New York died at her home early Tuesday morning, July 9, 2013.
Born April 23, 1918 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Philip & Frances Lipsitz Evans, also of Salamanca.
She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1936, and was a graduate of both Penn State and Hunter College of New York City.
Doris was employed as an Elementary School Teacher by the Salamanca City Schools at Prospect Elementary School in Salamanca, New York. Previously, she taught in the New York City School System.
She enjoyed skiing, golfing, playing tennis, bicycling, traveling, and dancing with Joel.
Surviving are: a son, Andrew (Namhee) Feinberg, Chandler, AZ; a daughter, Lisa Feinberg-Duckett, Wellsville, NY; 5 grandchildren, Frances Feinberg, Chandler, AZ, Anna (Duncan) Beckett, Iguala, Mexico, Philip Feinberg, Erlanger, KY, Louis Feinberg, Chandler, AZ, Raymond Evan Duckett, Buffalo, NY; 1 great-granddaughter, Kaia Shay.
She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Evans.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Salamanca Public Library Memorial Fund or to the Empire Animal Rescue Society (E.A.R.S.), 2 Fancher Avenue, Salamanca, NY 14779.
