Edward Cooper

Edward Cooper, 81, of Steamburg, NY died Sunday evening, November 12, 2023 at Absolut Care of Salamanca following a long illness.

Born May 25, 1942 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Alton and Edna John Cooper.

He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Heron Clan.

Edward was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1960.

He had been employed with Tops Market, Buffalo, NY.

He enjoyed visiting people, socializing, and good food. He lived in Steamburg in a cabin in the woods and enjoyed four wheeling, watching professional football and wrestling. He will be remembered for taking care of the elderly.

Surviving are: a brother, John (Joyce) Cooper, LeRoy, NY; his aunt Lillian Taylor, Steamburg, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins locally and throughout the Buffalo area.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald Cooper and Hobart “Nolan” Cooper.

Friends may call at the Coldspring Longhouse, Steamburg, NY beginning Tuesday afternoon, November 14, 2023 and continuing all day Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at Longhouse on Thursday at 10a.m. with Speakers of the Coldspring Longhouse officiating.

Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
