George Miller, age 73, of Washington Street, Salamanca, New York, died Thursday evening, August 15, 2013 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York following a short illness.
Born November 5, 1939, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Eugene and Laura Jones Miller.
He had been employed with the former Philadelphia Furniture in Salamanca for over ten years. Previously, he had been employed with King Windows in Little Valley and the Salamanca Woolen Mills. He worked in the Green Thumb Program at Seneca Elementary School in Salamanca
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, NASCAR, and going to gun shows throughout the area.
Surviving are: 2 brothers, Charles Miller, Salamanca, NY, Larry (Laurie) Miller, Little Valley, NY; 1 sister, Betty (Clair) Conklin, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Percy Miller and 8 sisters, Ruthie Miller, Jessie Miller, Baby Miller, Edith Miller, Barbara Cleveland, Pearl Gynip, Mary Higley, and Loretta Jimerson.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 3 â€“ 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Michael Lonto, Pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
