Gladys I. Baker
Gladys I. Baker, 93, of Salamanca, NY, died Wednesday afternoon, February 19, 2025 at the Pines Healthcare & Rehab Center, Olean, NY following a short illness.
Born October 19, 1931 in Centerville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Laura Smith Frazier. She was married in 1949 to Vernon Baker, who predeceased her in 2017.
Gladys had been employed with Bush Industries in Little Valley, NY for over 20 years and had previously been employed at Motorola in Arcade, NY.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially playing Yahtzee, doing puzzles, and crocheting. She was a member of the former Koinonia Christian Church in Salamanca.
Surviving are: five daughters, Darlene (Burt) Carpenter, Salamanca, NY, Cynthia Nugent, TX, Deborah (James) Scott, Franklinville, NY, Katherine (John) Smith, Salamanca, NY, Marcia (Rex) Bartlett, Franklinville, NY; a son, Dennis (Linda) Frazier, Sandusky, NY; twenty-six grandchildren; over sixty great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Vernon “Paul” Baker, three sisters, Marjorie Baker, Mary Baker, Shirley Winters, and nine brothers, Donald, Erwin, William, Ralph, Bob, Lyle, Richard Frazier, Clifford Frazier, and Roy Frazier.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 11a.m. – 1 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Pastor David Pryzak officiating.
Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, NY.
