Helen J. Jodush

Mrs. Helen J. Jodush, 101, of Salamanca, NY, died Wednesday morning, August 30, 2023 at the Pines Healthcare and Rehab Center, Olean, NY following a short illness.

Born February 17, 1922 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Antoinette Tomasik Wcislo. She was married on January 24, 1942 at Holy Cross Church to Edward Jodush, who predeceased her in 1980.

Mrs. Jodush attended Salamanca High School and Holy Cross Parochial School.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren, quilting, and baking. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, the Altar and Rosary Society, serving as past president.

Surviving are: a daughter, Kathryn Windsor, Rocky Point, NY; a granddaughter, Suzanne (John) Soltysik, Great Valley, NY; a grandson, Sean (Cristina) Windsor, Ft. Collins, CO; five great-grandchildren, Sarah (Jacob), Steven, Claire, Isabelle, Abigail; a great-great-grandson, Bryan; her goddaughter, Mary Plonka, Salamanca, NY.

She was predeceased by a son, Robert E. Jodush.

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 10am with Rev. Dennis Mancuso officiating.

Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, St. Bonaventure, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Our Lady of Peace Parish or the Altar and Rosary Society.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
