James Pedacchio

James A. Pedacchio, age 59, of Pimlico Avenue, Salamanca, New York died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Bradford Manor, Bradford, Pa.

Born on March 7, 1949 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of Eleanor Kaczmarski Pedacchio, Bradford, Pa. and the late Peter Pedacchio.

He was Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Medal.

Mr. Pedacchio was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad and the former Conrail Railroad for over 30 years.

He was a member of the St. Patrick's Church, the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296. He was model railroad enthusiast, he enjoyed golf, photography, watching baseball, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving besides his mother: a daughter, Megan Pedacchio, Salamanca, New York; a brother, William Pedacchio, Randolph, New York; a nephew, Tyson (Misty) Pedacchio, Pinehurst, N.C.

He was predeceased by a niece, Lindsey Joy Pedacchio.

There will be no visitation.

A Memorial Mass will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish (St. Patrick's Church) on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Lindsey Joy Pedacchio Scholarship Fund, or the American Cancer Society.
