Jane C. Biscup

Jane C. Biscup, 93, formerly of Salamanca, NY died Tuesday evening, December 26, 2023 at the Pines of Machias following a long illness.

Born February 11, 1930 in West Valley, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Augusta Kaufmann Rider. She was married on May 8, 1948 in St. Mary's Church in Little Valley, NY to Mr. Leonard "Lenny" Biscup, who predeceased her in 2008.

Jane co-owned and operated Len Biscup Disposal Inc. with her husband and was a physical education instructor and coach at the former St. Patrick’s School, Salamanca, NY.

Mrs. Biscup was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She took great pride in her home and gardens located on Route 353.

Surviving are: a daughter, Sandra (James) Miller, Great Valley, NY; grandchildren, Jennifer (Thomas) Heidrick, Derby, NY, Kristen (Ryan) Siperek, Humphrey, NY; daughter-in-law, Ann Biscup, Little Valley, NY; grandchildren, Maria Welka, Olean, NY, Andrew Biscup, Moab UT, Aaron (Andrea) Biscup, OH, Caleb (Cassondra) Biscup, Randolph, NY; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Annemarie Biscup, a son, Jeffrey Biscup, four sisters, Jean Barrett, Doris Thesang, Marion Halley, and Elaine Farnham, and four brothers, James Rider, John Rider, Charles Rider, and Fred Swasing.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., at which time a prayer service will be held in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Parish at 1:30pm with Rev. Dennis Mancuso as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
