Jay L. Lichy

Jay L. Lichy, age 51 of North Authority Road, Killbuck NY died unexpectedly at Olean General Hospital Friday, May 9, 2014.

Born January 5, 1963 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son Linda Miller Abrams and the late David Lichy.

He was married June 14, 2008 in Allegany State Park to Leona Halftown Lichy who survives. He had previously been married to the late Shelly Jones Lichy who predeceased him in 2001.

Mr. Lichy was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Deer Clan and the Coldspring Longhouse.

He had been employed as a Union Carpenter with Local 0276 for over 20 years. He formerly owned and operated J-Town Tire Service in Jimersontown, and had worked for the Seneca Nation of Indians in various positions.

Jay loved the outdoors; fishing and hunting, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family, especially his children.

Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Jayde Lichy and one son, Bryce Lichy, both of Salamanca; 2 sisters, Michele Lichy of Salamanca and Stefanie (Mike) Olson of Minnesota; 1 brother, Jonathan (Tammy) Lichy of Salamanca; 1 aunt, Karen (Lenny) Ellis, Salamanca; 1 uncle, Brian (Darlene) Miller, Salamanca; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the family home of 3626 North Authority Road, Kill Buck, New York beginning Sunday and all day Monday.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 am in the family home and be conducted by Speakers from the Coldspring Longhouse.

Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery, Jimersontown, New York.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc., Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
