Jean Frank

Jean L. Frank, age 84 , Great Valley, New York formerly of Salamanca, New York died Tuesday evening, May 11, 2010 at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born on February 27, 1926 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late Harry & Carrie Mae Stiles Armstrong. She was married on November 1, 1943 in the People’s Methodist Church to Mr. William Frank.

Mrs. Frank was employed during WWII at the former Weston’s Bakery, at the former Puritan Restaurant for 23 years, at Fentier Village for 5 years, and for Home Health Care for 8 years.

She was a member of the Great Valley Senior Citizens, the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296 Ladies Auxiliary, and the AARP.

Surviving are: 4 daughters, Gloria Goetz, 81 Clinton Street, Salamanca, New York, Kathleen (Robert) Brown, Mechansville, Va., Lynda Jennings, Meadville, Pa., Karen (Keith) Payne, Central Square, New York; a son, Daniel (Debra) Frank, Lake Jackson, Texas; 9 grandchildren, Douglas (Laurie) Andrews, Little Valley, Todd Andrews, Academy Street, Salamanca, New York, Major Dean (Nicole) Case, Hawaii, George (Wendy) Case, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Robert Brown III, Richmond, Va., Daniel Jennings II, California, Sara McCartney, Meadville, Pa., Steven Frank, Newport News, Va., Dylen Payne, Central Square, New York; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 5 brothers, Clair Armstrong, Lawrence Armstrong, Harold Armstrong, Harry Armstrong, Roy Armstrong, 7 sisters, Reva Wogick, Thelma Button, Dorothy Chudy, Virginia Kelly, Patricia Jane Purcell, Elaine Camp, Leona Armstrong.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
