Jean M. Fisher

Mrs. Jean Fisher, 90, of Salamanca, NY died early Monday morning, August 7, 2023 at home following a long illness.

Born February 5, 1933 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Thompson Brahaney. She was married on July 27, 1954 to Mr. Wayne “Bud” Fisher, who predeceased her in 2014.

Jean had been employed as a telephone operator for New York Telephone Company for fifteen years, and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church, Our Lady of Peace Parish, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working around the house. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and going on walks.

Surviving are: two daughters, Deborah Osborne, Salamanca, NY, Susan Fisher, Great Valley, NY; a son, Michael Fisher, Salamanca, NY; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ann) Osborne, CA, Michael Osborne, VA, Kat (Rory) Flinn, Brooklyn, NY, Marty (Marian) Fisher, Clarion, PA, Karley Brooks, Ices Decker, Ila Decker, all of Great Valley, NY; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Allen Fisher, a grandson, Jason Hostuttler, three sisters, Mary Paoletto, Frances Grochowina, and Gertrude Fluent, and three brothers, John Brahaney, James Brahaney, and Daniel Brahaney.

A Memorial Mass will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10am with Rev. Dennis Mancuso officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Peace Parish.
