John MCStraw Sr.

Mr. John D. MCStaw Sr. of Hinsdale, New York formerly of Salmanca, New York died Tuesday evening, July 17, 2007 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born November 13, 1944 in Erie, Pa., he was the son of Ruth Barber MCStraw, stepson of Ralph MCStraw and pre-deceased by his father the late Charles Gross.

Mr. MCStraw was a self-employed logger for over 20 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.

Surviving besides his mother and step father; 4 daughters, Tonya (Joseph) Darcy, Hinsdale, NY; Melissa (Steve) Nolan, Bolivar, NY; Randi (Max) Kelly, Jamestown, NY; Kendra Kelly, West VA; 1 son, John MCStraw Jr. Killbuck, NY; 6 sisters, Kathy (Dennis) Roth, River Street, Salamanca, NY; Linda (Jim) Taylor, Murray Ave, Salamanca, NY; Judy (Bernard) Birkett, VA., Niki Case, Eldred, Pa., Rhonda (Ron) Munday, Bradford., Pa., Candace Dennison, Weston, West Va.; 3 brothers, Ralph (Marrilyn) MCStraw Jr., PA; James MCStraw, PA; David MCStraw, TN.

He was predeceased by a brother, Paul MCStraw.

Friends will be received at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Fuenral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday morning from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at which time a memorial service will be held with Pastor Sam Stull of the Free Methodist Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to the American Cancer Society.
