Leonard C. Boldt
Leonard C. Boldt, age 102, of Mutton Hollow Road, Great Valley, New York, died Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014 at his home.
Born January 2, 1912 in Eganville, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Emil and Hanna Bouchard Boldt. He was married in June of 1939 in Eganville, Ontario to the former Linda Lenser who predeceased him in 1993.
Mr. Boldt was a lumberman all of his life starting at age 13 in a lumber camp in Northern Ontario. He migrated to the United States in 1959 working as a sawyer in Fryburg, Maine and later in Carthage, New York, Kane, PA and in Ellicottville at Fitzpatrick & Weller where he was employed for over 25 years retiring at the age of 80.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ellicottville, New York. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid sports fan watching football, boxing and hockey.
Surviving are: 4 children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York from 11 A.M.- 2 P.M. on Saturday with funeral services to be held at 2 P.M. with Pastor Jerry LeFeber, interim pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Augsburg, Ontario.
