Lloyd Dolph

Mr. Lloyd J. Dolph, age 74, of Nies Street, Salamanca, New York died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford, PA. following a long illness.

Born on February 17, 1937 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Lloyd and Helen Pepper Dolph.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School Class of 1955. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany.

Mr. Dolph was employed as a conductor for the CSX Railroad retiring in 2007.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296, the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535, the Holy Cross Club, the Masonic Lodge, the former Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1002, and the former BPO Elks Lodge #1025. He was an avid sports fan especially baseball. He had coached little league baseball and pee wee football.

Surviving are: a daughter, Gail (Tony) Drain, Salamanca, New York; a son, Larry (Linda) Dolph, Little Valley, New York; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; longtime companion, Shirley Smith and her daughter, Penny Smith, both of Salamanca, NY; his faithful dog, Morgan.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Monday from 4-7 P.M.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 A.M. in the House of Prayer, 122 Highland Avenue, Salamanca, NY with Rev. Robert Goode officiating.

Burial will be in Willoughby Cemetery, Great Valley, NY.

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
