Marian Shinners

Marian Shinners, age 80, of Killbuck, New York, formerly of Bradford, PA, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at her home.

Born on February 15, 1936 in Bradford, PA she was the daughter of the late Guy and Maude Pratt Stickney. She was married on October 20, 1971 to Mr. Gerald Shinners I who survives.

Mrs. Shinners was a graduate of Bradford High School Class of 1954 and Hamot School of Nursing Class of 1957.

She had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Bradford Regional Medical Center, Santa Ana- Justin Community Hospital, University of California at Irvine (UCIMC), and Corona Community Hospital prior to her retirement.

Mrs. Shinners was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving are: a daughter, Robin Pender, Bradford, PA; 2 sons, James Pender Jr., Killbuck, New York, Gerald (Jeanette) Shinners II, Salamanca, New York; a granddaughter, Kerstin Shinners, and a grandson, Kody Shinners, both of Salamanca, New York; a sister, Mary Lou (Robert) Lockhart, Kendall, New York; several nieces and nephews..

She was predeceased by a son, Sean “Slim” Shinners, on July 2, 2007, 3 sisters, Garnet Andrews, Doris Wirgis, Shirley Lewis, 2 brothers, Hugh Pratt and Robert Stickney.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Parish with Rev. Peter Napirkowski, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
