Mildred L. Simons
Mildred L. Simons, age 90, of Hillview Manor, formerly of East State Street, Salamanca, New York died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, New York following a short illness.
Born on February 2, 1919 in Independence, M. O. she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Pearl Sharks Cook. She was married on December 24, 1938 to Mr. Norman C. Simons who predeceased her on Jan. 17, 1968.
Mrs. Simons had been employed at the former Big Hat restaurant, Salamanca District Hospital, Salamanca Central School, and Pyramid Restaurant, Killbuck, NY.
She enjoyed cooking and baking.
Surviving are: daughter, Mrs. Dixie (Harry) Magara, Killbuck, New York, one son, Carl (Sandy) Simons, Great Valley, New York; 3 grandchildren, Rhonda Fuller, Olean, New York, Natalie Simons, Killbuck, New York, Carl Simons Jr., Salamanca, New York; 6 great grandchildren, Clayton Jimerson, Austin Jimerson, Asa Jimerson, Clorissa John, Ernest “Robbie” Robinson III, all of the Salamanca area, and Karl Robinson, Olean, New York; 4 great great grandchildren, Jonathan Robinson, Garrett Robinson, Memphis Robinson and Wyatt Robinson all of Olean, New York.
A granddaughter Angela Magara predeceased Mrs. Simons on August 19, 1995.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until noon at which time funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Donald Acker pastor of the House of Prayer officiating.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
