Nan C. Ullman

Mrs. Nan C. Ullman, 70, of Bear Hollow Rd, Great Valley, NY died Sunday morning, March 19, 2017 at the Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born January 13, 1947 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ryan and Eileen Button Norton. She was married on April 1, 1967 at the First Congregational Church in Salamanca to Roy E. Ullman, who predeceased her in June 2008.

Mrs. Ullman was a graduate of Ellicottville High School and attended college in West Virginia.

She had been employed at the former Fancher Furniture Company and Ethan Allen as a woodworker for over thirty years. She had also worked at Advanced Nutritional Research in Ellicottville, NY and was a caretaker for the elderly.

She was a member of the Great Valley Fire Company and was an EMT on their ambulance squad for over ten years. She loved drawing and painting, was an avid seamstress, and she also enjoyed horseback riding and shooting. She took in injured animals and would rehab them.

Surviving are: a daughter, Heather Ullman, Great Valley, NY; a son, Clynton (Annette) Ullman, Salamanca, NY; four grandchildren, Rachelle Graham, Flint, MI, Leslie Gunsolus II, NC, Dianna Ullman, Donald Ullman, both of Salamanca, NY; a great-grandson, Mason Ullman, Salamanca, NY; three sisters, Gay (James) Fitzpatrick, Great Valley, NY, Ann (Joe) Tascone, Norway, NY, Kathy Norton, Great Valley, NY; two brothers, Allen (Ruth) Norton, Little Valley, NY, Donn (Jackie) Norton, Great Valley, NY; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

Burial will be in Willoughby Cemetery, Great Valley, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Great Valley Fire Company’s ambulance fund.
