Nancy C. Sutton

Nancy C. Sutton, 70 of Jimersontown, NY passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at home surrounded by her family and dear friends, following a brief illness.

Born August 4, 1950 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leo E. John Sr. and Vivian Warrior Martin. She was married June 6, 2009 to Daniel C. Sutton, who predeceased her in 2014.

She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and of the Beaver Clan.

Nancy attended Salamanca High School, Class of 1968 and Olean Business Institute.

She had been employed in the clerical department for the Seneca Nation of Indians for over 15 years. She had also previously been employed with the former Fancher Furniture Company, Salamanca, NY.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, cookouts, and attending movies. She was a Denver Broncos and Buffalo Sabres fan. She was a member of the Coldspring Longhouse and the Eagles Club, Olean, NY.

Surviving are: two daughters, Trishelle (Barney Clark) Murphy, Salamanca, NY, Ronda John- Murphy, Jimersontown, NY; a son, Brian (Christine) Murphy, Salamanca, NY; a stepdaughter, Kimberly (John) Ricci, Allegany, NY; 13 adoring grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Elaine John, and three brothers, Leo John Jr. Craig John, and Eric John.

Friends may call at the family home, 3731 Center Road, Jimersontown, NY beginning late Wednesday afternoon, February 24, 2021 and continuing all day Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at the family home on Friday at 10 a.m. with members of the Coldspring Longhouse officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery, Jimersontown, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
