Patricia Bova-John

Patricia Ann “Pat Pat” Bova-John, 58, of Steamburg, New York died Friday evening, May 30, 2014 at the Absolut at Salamanca, Salamanca, New York following a long illness.

Born April 8, 1956 in Jamestown, New York, she was the daughter of the late Myron C. and Ruth Jimerson Bova. She was married in October 1977, to Mr. Marlet “Mossie” John, who survives.

She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Wolf Clan and was a sealed member of the New Apostolic Church in Jamestown, New York, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and helping with Sunday School Class while in Salamanca. She loved being around children, especially her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She and Mossie were foster parents for many years. She was an avid Bingo player and loved playing the Bears at the Old Gaming Room in Salamanca. She also loved to read, smoke, drink her Diet Pepsi, and spend time at the family camp in Onoville.

She had been employed as a computer technician for the Lionel R. John Health Clinic.

Patricia and her family were among the many families removed from their homes in Onoville to Steamburg due to the building of the Kinzua Dam.

Surviving besides her husband are: 1 daughter, Jenna (Dakotah) Kaltenbach, Steamburg, NY; 1 son, Jansen (Betty Jo Jimerson) John, Steamburg, NY; 4 grandchildren, Iris, Brandi, Warrier, and Emmett Kaltenbach, all of Steamburg, NY; 1 brother, David (Dorene) Bova, Steamburg, NY; 4 sisters, Judy (Ron) Jimerson, Cynthia Jemison, Charlene (Wilbur) John, all of Steamburg, NY, Sharon (Jerry) Atwood, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Clinton Charles Bova.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 4 -7 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Pastor Mike Konula, of the New Apostolic Church, Jamestown, New York.
