Mr. Paul Meek, 86 , of 4047 Erie Street, Salamanca, New York died Friday (December 31, 2010) at the Absolut of Salamanca, Salamanca, New York
Born on February 9, 1924 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Henry and Ruth Wilson Meek. He was married in Machias, New York on November 27, 1946 to the former Marion Tillow who predeceased him on September 9, 2005.
Mr. Meek was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the 4th Combat Cargo Group in Central Burma, China and India during World War II. He was awarded the American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal
He was employed in construction with Local 621, Olean , New York
Mr. Meek was a former member of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign War John Ahrens Post # 5296.
Surviving are: 1 daughter, Jacqueline (Gary) Learn, Erie Street, Salamanca, New York; 2 grandchildren; Kashauna Learn, Daniel Learn, two sisters Mary Armagost, Kathleen McFarland, all of Salamanca, New York
There will be no visitation.
Graveside funeral services will be held in Green Cemetery at a later date.
