Mr. Paul F. Minner, age 70, of 147 Highland Avenue, Salamanca, New York died Thursday afternoon, June 17, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York following a short illness.
Born on December 30, 1939 in Gowanda, New York he was the son of the late Albert & Monica Sweeney Minner. He was married on November 7, 1959 in Falconer, New York to the former JoAnn Clayton who survives.
Mr. Minner was a graduate of Gowanda High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1957-58.
Mr. Minner was employed as a Bus Driver for Carrier Coach Company in Gowanda for over 10 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish where he served as a Minister of Communion & a lector, Knights of Columbus, he was an Auxiliary Police Officer for over 38 years, he was an EMT since 1972 and was a CPR Instructor and an EMT Instructor. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fly fishing and hunting.
Surviving besides his wife are: 6 sons, Paul F. (Isa) Minner, Virginia Beach, VA, William (Valarie) Minner, Kansas City, Missouri, Aaron (Penelope) Minner, Salamanca, New York, David (Enid) Minner, Boynton Beach, FLA., Joel “Al” (Sharon) Minner, Clarksville, TN, Jason (Amy) Minner, Salamanca, New York; 2 daughters, Paula Copp, Riverside, CA, Teresa (Kevin) Greene, Great Valley, New York; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Leo (Barb) Minner, Cattaraugus, New York; a sister, Mary Jane Wilson, San Bernadino, CA; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Justin Copp.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, as celebrant.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
