Raymond E. Sage
Raymond E. Sage Sr., 57, of Kill Buck, New York died Sunday morning, March 8, 2015 at home.
Born August 24, 1957 in Salamanca, New York, he was the son of the late Raymond H. and Edna Schreckengost Sage. He had been married to the former Mary “Cookie” John of Napoli, NY who survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Hancock during the Vietnam War.
He had been employed as a laborer at the former Fancher Furniture Company in Salamanca, New York.
Surviving are: a daughter, Christy Rae (Gerard) Van Every, Hamilton, Ontario; three sons, Shayne Sage, Salamanca, NY, Raymond Sage Jr., Emporium, PA, Justin Wickham, Kill Buck, NY; sixteen grandchildren, five sisters, Patricia (Mark) Bryant, Little Valley, NY, Carol (Bill) Fisher, Kill Buck, NY, Susie Colburn, Cherry Creek, NY, Laurie Jean (John) Taylor, Emporium, PA, Fay “Gidget” Sage, Olean, NY; a brother, Joseph E. Sr. (Brianne) Sage, Kill Buck, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Joshua Sage and a lifelong partner Jackie Ennis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at The Pyramid Restaurant in Killbuck, New York. Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
