Rita D. Croker, age 79, of 139 South Main Street, Salamanca, New York died this morning, November 1, 2007 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York following a long illness.
Born on August 9, 1928 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late Fred and Marion Sheldon. She was married to Mr. William Croker who predeceased her on April 22, 1990.
Mrs. Croker worked as amonitor at the former Jefferson Street School, Salamanca, New York prior to her retirement.
She loved animals. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and watching her grandchildren's sporting events.
Surviving are: 3 sons, Darryl Croker, Wilson Street, Salamanca, New York, Dana Croker, Salamanca, New York, Shawn Croker, Great Valley, New York; a daughter, Kim (Mike) Zelinski, Salamanca, New York; 5 grandchildren, Michael (April) Zelinski, Cuba, New York, Patrick (Lacey) Zelinski, Erie, Pa., Darryl Croker Jr., Salamanca, New York, Kyle Croker, Salamanca, New York, Cody Lee-Croker, Frewsburg, New York; 1 great granddaughter, Quinn Zelinski, Erie, Pa.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael Croker on December 31, 2002.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
