Mr. Stanley Livak, age 85, of Erie Street, Salamanca, New York died March 9, 2011 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.
Born on August 29, 1925 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Adam and Michalena Suzman Livak. He was married on May 18, 1980 to the former Mary Bearfield who predeceased her on July 4, 2004.
Mr. Livak was a self employed contractor for over 25 years specializing in excavation. He had also been employed with the former B & O Railroad and the former Fancher Furniture Company.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and claimed to have taken the biggest buck off North Mountain, a 15 pt. buck.
Surviving are: 2 sisters, Lillian Wogick, Salamanca, New York, Dorothy Reed, Little Valley, New York; 2 step children, Lee Stephens, West Virginia, Dianna Sinclair, Michigan; 7 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Anthony Livak, Charles Livak, Benjamin Livak, Frank Livak, 4 sisters, Josephine Paschen, Helen Myers, Patricia Waite, and Mary Reed.
There will be no visitation.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Homecare & Hospice, 1225 West State Street, Olean, New York 14760.
