Stanley Scott

Mr. Stanley B. Scott, age 87, of 7163 Whitehall Road, Whitehall, Michigan, formerly of Route 353, Little Valley, New York died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the home of his son, Bob.

Born on September 21, 1922 in Humphrey, New York he was the son of the late Harold and Pearl Snyder Scott. He was married on December 18, 1943 in Orangeburg, S.C to the former Joanne Wallace who predeceased him on August 20, 2009.

Mr. Scott was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving during WWII serving as a pilot in the European Theatre, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon, Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Presidential Unit Citation.

He was employed for 30 years at the former Dresser Clark Industries retiring in 1975. Also, he was a self employed dairy farmer for over 30 years.

Mr. Scott was a member of the American Legion Post and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, both of Little Valley, New York. . Surviving are: a daughter, Bonnie Vesneski, Salamanca, New York; 2 sons, Robert Scott, Whitehall, Michigan, Thomas (Debora) Scott, Salamanca, New York; 12 grandchildren; 19 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Kyle Scott, 2 brothers, Richard Scott, Louis Scott, 2 sisters, Elvira Schacholt, Thelma DeJohn.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held in St. Mary�s Episcopal Church, Salamanca, New York on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor, officiating.

The family suggests memorials to the Kyle Stephen Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, Salamanca High School, 50 Iroqouis Drive, Salamanca, New York 14779.
