Mr. Steven Stevenson, age 73, of Central Avenue, Salamanca, New York, formerly of Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, died suddenly at his Salamanca home early Saturday morning, July 13, 2013.
Born April 17, 1940, in Poland, he was the son of the late Stanley and Maryjanna Sikora Szczepaniak.
Mr. Stevenson was a truck driver for over 40 years and was employed at Syvret Transport in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. He was a member of St. Josephs RC Church, Grimsby, Ontario and Our Lady of Peace Parish, Salamanca, New York. He was a member of the Canadian and American Legions, the Holy Cross Athletic Club, Life member of the Knights of Columbus, and order of Secular Francisam.
He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, and was also an avid wood worker.
Surviving are: his companion of 25 years, Frances "Dee" Decker, Salamanca New York, and a daughter, Katherine M. Stevenson, Beamsville, Ontario, Canada.
He was predeceased by an infant sister, Wanda Stevenson.
There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish on Monday July 22, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Patrick Melfi, Pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the SPCA.
