Mrs. Susan M. Franklin, age 63, of 28 Elmwood Avenue, Salamanca, New York, died Thursday evening, June 9, 2011, at the Absolut of Salamanca following a long illness.
Born on September 27, 1947, in Jamestown, New York, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Pauline Remington Reding. She was married on July 2, 2005 in Salamanca, New York to Mr. Kevin Franklin who survives. She was previously married to Mr. Marvin LeBlanc who predeceased her on October 2, 2002.
Mrs. Franklin was a graduate of Randolph High School.
She was employed for 32 years at Head Start where she served as Regional Director prior to retiring due to illness.
Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Holy Cross Athletic Club, a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296 and the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535.
Surviving besides her husband are: a son, Thomas (Patty Johnson) LeBlanc, Frewsburg, New York; 2 step sons, Kristopher Franklin, Olean, New York, Michael Franklin, Salamanca, New York; 2 step daughters, P J LeBlanc, John Day , Oregon, Renee Hoppis, Washington, D.C.; 3 grandsons; a brother, Peter (Vicki) Reding, Randolph, New York; Nancy (Fred) Calev, Rochester, New York, Cathy Reding, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Saturday from 7-9 P.M. and Sunday from noon until 2:30 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
