William A. Alaimo, age 77, Four Mile Road, Allegany, New York died Saturday evening , July 30, 2011 at The Absolut of Salamanca, New York following a long illness.
Born on March 8, 1934 in Olean, New York he was the son of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth Savone Alaimo. He was married on September 6, 1992 in the Allegany Convention Center to the former Barbara Bauer Covert who survives.
He enjoyed music, fishing, playing his guitar and harmonica, bingo, and enjoyed his friends at the nursing home.
Surviving besides his wife are several children including Mark (Tina) Covert Jr., Buffalo, New York, Barbie Covert, Lancaster, New York, Kathy Crouch, Buffalo, New York, Charles (Tina Kemp) Covert, Allegany, New York, Mary (Dennis) Link, Hinsdale, New York, Richard (Sherry) Covert, Allegany, New York; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Terry Gappa, Olean, New York; 3 sisters, Mickey, Mary Ann, Carmella, all of Olean, New York; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
He was predeceased by 2 sons, Willie Alaimo, Jubel Alaimo, and a sister, Sally Alaimo.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Wednesday from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. noon at which time funeral and committal services will be held.
Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, New York.
