Alice J. Perkins
Mrs. Alice J. Perkins, 62, of Washington Street, Salamanca, NY died early Saturday morning, June 12, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY following a courageous battle.
Born December 1, 1958 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Rosaphine Jimerson Cooper. She was married May 12, 1979 to Mr. Fredrick Perkins, who survives.
Alice was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Hawk Clan.
She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1977 and earned her Associates Degree in Occupational Studies from Olean Business Institute in 1993.
Alice owned and operated A&F Trucking in Salamanca, serving as CEO since 1983. Previously, she had been employed with Allegany State Park, the Lionel R. John Health Clinic, Ontario Knife Company, and Seneca Craftsman.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved animals, volunteering with EARS. She was an avid Buffalo Bandits fan.
Surviving besides her husband are: a daughter, Andrea (Kevin Glowacki) Perkins, Salamanca, NY; a son, Mark (Leigh-anna Miller) Perkins, Salamanca, NY; three granddaughters, Karina R. Flagg, Alyssa Perkins, Kurryn Glowacki, all of Salamanca; five grandsons, Devan Childs, Olean, NY, Kyle Perkins, Dayton George, K. Elijah Glowacki, Cooper Perkins, all of Salamanca; three sisters, Sandy Dowdy, Coldspring, NY, Pauline “Snap” John, Lorraine Cooper, both of Salamanca; a brother, Thomas Redeye, Steamburg, NY; several nieces and nephews; her dog, Maisy, and her cat, Lucy.
She was predeceased by a brother, Charles “Chipps” Cooper, nephews, Jason, Dale, and stepfather, Laverne Raub.
Friends may call at the family home, 204 Washington Street, Salamanca, NY beginning Monday late afternoon, June 14, 2021 and continuing all day Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held in the family home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kevin John of the Red House Memorial Chapel officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, NY.
