Alice M. Caruso

Mrs. Alice M. Caruso, 84, of State Park Avenue, Salamanca, NY died Monday evening, November 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.

Born August 30, 1934 in Little Valley, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lillian Miller Bishop. She was married in St. Bonaventure Chapel on June 25, 1955 to Col. John “Jack” Caruso who predeceased her on October 25, 2013.

She was a graduate of Little Valley High School and attended Fredonia University.

She had been employed as a Human Resource Manager for The Department of Interior in Washington DC, and Bechtel Engineering, West Palm Beach, FL. She had also been a manager of Seasons Four in Bowie, MD.

Mrs. Caruso was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, the local chapter of AARP where she served as President, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

She enjoyed being a mom and spending time with her family. She was an avid card player and enjoyed needlework, scrapbooking, and bowling. She loved to listen to and play music.

Surviving are: a daughter, Teresa Evans, Salamanca, NY; two sons, Michael Caruso, The Colony, TX, and John (Peggy) Caruso, Corvallis, OR; a granddaughter, Ashley Evans, North Tonawanda, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Marlene K. Climie, who passed away in 2010.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY, Thursday, November 29, from 11am-1pm at which time funeral services will be held with Deacon Michael Anderson of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
