Alyce Donlin

Mrs. Alyce Donlin, age 84, formerly of Newton Street, Salamanca, New York died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Briody Health Care in Lockport, New York following a long illness.

Born on August 28, 1924 in Buffalo, New York she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Podolinski Pachan. She was married on February 27, 1965 in St. Patrick’s Church to Mr. Frank Donlin who predeceased her on May 1, 1999.

Mrs. Donlin had been employed as a Nurse’s Aide at the former Salamanca District Hospital.

She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Church in Salamanca, New York, the Mr. & Mrs. Club. She enjoyed card playing, art work and listening to music.

Surviving are: 2 daughters, Mary (Thomas) Van Splunder, Elma, New York, Francine (William “B”) Brierly, Amherst, New York ; 2 sons, Frank (Charlann) Donlin, Elma, New York, Peter Donlin, Amherst, New York; 10 grandchildren, Timothy Van Splunder, Allen Van Splunder, Nicholas Brierly, Benjamin Brierly, Jonathan Brierly, Emmagrace Brierly, Taylor Donlin, Trevor Donlin, Kyle Donlin, Zachary Donlin; a brother, John (Gretchen) Pachan, Little Valley, New York; a sister, Mary Jude Pachan, Amherst, New York; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mary Vogtli, Evelyn Huffnagle, 3 brothers, Lester Pachan, James Pachan, and Donald Pachan.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 12:00 P.M. noon at Our Lady of Peace (St. Patrick’s Worship Site) with Msgr. Dino Lorenzetti, as celebrant.

Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Briody Health Care facility, 909 Lincoln Avenue, LTC Memorial Scholarship Fund, Lockport, New York 14094.
