Anastasia "Ann" M. Sipko

Mrs. Anastasia “Ann” M. Sipko, 94, of Salamanca, New York and North Fort Myers, Florida died Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, Florida.

Born April 1, 1921 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Lucian and Josephine Zielinski Polasik. She was married on April 26, 1943 in Holy Cross Church to Mr. Stanley Sipko, who predeceased her on March 31, 2007.

Mrs. Sipko was a graduate of Salamanca High School Class of 1938 and Fredonia State College Class of 1942.

She taught at Griffith Institute in Springville, New York for 3 years and 29 years at Salamanca Central School, retiring in 1979.

Mrs. Sipko was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Holy Rosary Society, Elkdale Country Club, New York State and Western Cattaraugus County Retired Teacher’s Association, Beta Epsilon Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma, Newman Reading Circle, North Fort Myers Senior Citizens, and AARP.

Surviving are: a daughter, Margaret (Peter) Bowen, Little Valley, NY; a son, Jack Sipko, Salamanca, NY; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Griehm, Salamanca, NY; a brother, Carl Polasik, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond Polasik, Leo Polasik, and Paul Polasik, and a sister, Lucille Budzinski.

There will be no visitation.

Friends may attend a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Peace Parish on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
