Anna M. Gebauer

Mrs. Anna M. “Ann” Gebauer, 74, of Kill Buck, NY died Saturday morning, January 6, 2024 at Olean General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 21, 1949 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Florence Magara Gogel. She was married April 26, 1986 to Leon J. Gebauer Sr., who predeceased her in 2000.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1967.

Mrs. Gebauer had been employed in the Daycare Center at Holiday Valley Resort for over 20 years, retiring in 2011.

She was a member of the Ellicottville American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the Ellicottville Women’s Horseshoe League, and she was a fan of NASCAR and the Buffalo Bills. Mrs. Gebauer enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She also loved the outdoors, long walks, feeding her birds, collecting angel figurines, and being with her “Trouble”.

Surviving are: two sons, Gregory Gebauer, Great Valley, NY, Shawn Gebauer, Kill Buck, NY; five grandsons, Duston Gebauer, Trevor Gebauer, Jerrett Gebauer, Gavin Gebauer, Emmett Gebauer, all of Great Valley, NY; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Amy) Gogel, Buffalo, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Leon Gebauer Jr, and a sister, Carole Reese.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Burial will be in Green Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the Great Valley Fire Company, PO Box 142, Great Valley, NY 14741.
