Anne Merchant
Anne Meyer Merchant, age 69, of Greenville, South Carolina, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at her home.
Born April 11, 1941, in Rochester, New York, she was the daughter of the late Jerome Joseph Meyer and Elizabeth Charlotte Boesch Meyer Wass.
Ms. Merchant was the owner of Time Warp, a vintage clothing store, until her retirement in 2008.
She was an avid artist working with pencil creating charcoal pictures of animals and people. She played tennis and loved outdoor activities such as hiking and rafting. Known for her sense of humor, she loved music and was adored by her many friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Bernadette Merchant and her husband, Edward Greer, of Greenville, S.C., Natalie Merchant, Hudson Valley, N.Y.; two sons, Christopher Anthony Merchant and his wife, Christina Michos, Jude Merchant and his wife, Heather, both of Jamestown, N.Y.; 5 grandchildren, Karin, Anthony, Ellen, Abigail, and Lucia; two sisters, Marianne Whitcomb, Olean, New York, and Wendy Wing, Salamanca, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to VistaCare Hospice, 4006 E. North Street, Greenville, S.C. 29615.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York, on Saturday from 10 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Private Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
