Anthony Barrile
Mr. Anthony Barrile, age 88, of Kill Buck, New York, died Tuesday morning, August 20, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 9, 1925 in Limestone, New York, he was the eighth child of the late Antonio and Vetta Policastro Barile. He was married in the former St. Patrick's Church on October 12, 1946 to the late Nancy Quattrone, who predeceased him on June 26, 2011.
Tony retired from Dresser Clark in Olean in 1986 as the shop foreman, where he had been employed for over 30 years. He was a Licensed Master Plumber for the City of Salamanca from 1972 – 2012, and served as Plumbing Inspector for the City of Salamanca.
He sought to be a member of the military service at age sixteen. After he was prevented from joining twice by his mother, Tony succeeded in enlisting in the United States Navy in 1943. He graduated from basic training in Sampson, NY then from June 5, 1943 – January 17, 1946, he served aboard the USS Gherardi DD637-DMS30, during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres.
He was a member of the former St. Patrick's Church, a life member of both the Kill Buck Volunteer Fire Department and the Square Circle Club in Kill Buck, and was a founding member of the Limestone American Legion Memorial Post#1560. Tony served on the Great Valley Town Planning Board, as a Councilman, and as Town Supervisor.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, spending time with his family, and his morning coffee group.

Damien (Heather) Bess, NC, Major Darby (Erin) Bess, Tampa, FL, Dr. Christopher (Amanda) Bess, Walla Walla, WA, Stephanie (Eric) Wade, Niskayuna, NY, Lindsay (Josh Annis) Barrile, Elmira, NY, Nicole (John) Drake, Allegany, NY; 11 great-grandchildren, Alicia Bess, Emily Bess, Triston Bess, Fernando Bess, Sophia Bess, Peter Bess, Charles Bess, Cole Wade, Dillon Wade, Caelinn Drake, Fiona Drake; 1 brother, Joseph Barrile, Limestone, NY; 3 sisters, Angie Whiteman, Limestone, NY, Vicki (James) Chapman, Limestone, NY, Camilla Rouse, FL.
He was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Limestone, NY.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Limestone, New York.
Full military honors will be conducted by members of the Allegany American Legion Post #892.
