Anthony Skudlarek
Anthony M. Skudlarek, age 94, of Salamanca, New York died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Absolut of Salamanca, New York.
Born on March 11, 1915 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Martin and Rose Benacheivch Skudlarek.
Mr. Skudlarek was a WWII veteran serving in U.S. Army with the 713th Engineer Battalion. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He retired from Luminite in 1977 after 11 ½ years. Previously, he had been employed at the B. & O. Railroad as a fireman for 28 years. Also, he had been employed by the former Rhodes Construction Co. from 1946 – 1952.
Mr. Skudlarek was a life member of the Holy Cross Athletic Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296, and the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535.
Surviving are: 2 daughters, Dolores (William) Coon, Allegany, New York, Gloria Hall, Melbourne, Fla.; 3 sons, Randy Skudlarek, Henry Street, Salamanca, New York, Rick Skudlarek, Liberty Street, Salamanca, New York, Nicholas (Carol) Skudlarek, Olean, New York; 4 grandchildren, Thomas Skudlarek, Katie Skudlarek, both of Olean, New York, Molly Coon, Allegany, New York, Jason Coon, Clearwater, Fla.; a great granddaughter, Sophia Coon, Clearwater, Fla.; 5 step daughters, Pat (Mark) Bryant, Little Valley, New York, Carol (Bill) Fisher, Killbuck, New York, Susie Colburn, Cherry Creek, New York, Laurie Taylor, Emporium, Pa., Gidget Sage, Hinsdale, New York; 2 step sons, Raymond (Jackie) Sage Sr., Killbuck, New York, Joseph (Brianne) Sage Sr., Killbuck, New York; several step grandchildren & step great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son Larry Skudlarek
There will be no visitation.
