Arleen Blocher
Mrs. Arleen Blocher, 74, of Salamanca, New York died Sunday night, November 1, 2015 at her home.
Born December 5, 1938 in Greenwood, New York, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Laura Allen Muchler. She was married August 26, 1961 at the former St. Patrick’s Church in Salamanca to Mr. Donald Blocher, who survives.
She had been employed as a Nurse’s Aide with the former Salamanca Nursing Home prior to her retirement. Previously, she had been employed as a cook with the former Dudley Hotel in Salamanca.
Mrs. Blocher was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church and the former Women of the Moose Club Chapter 62.
Surviving besides her husband are: two daughters, Lorrie (Michael) Kewley, Lacey, WA and Sandy (Dave) Iacchetta, Spencerport, NY; two sons, Steven Blocher and Donald C. Blocher, both of Salamanca, NY; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Lucille Stout, St. Petersburg, FL and Kathleen (Speed) Gunnip, Scio, NY.
She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Ophelia Roth.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11 a.m.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm and Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263.
