Arline Taylor

Arline Taylor, 98, formerly of Kill Buck, NY died Sunday morning, August 20, 2017 at the Olean General Hospital of natural causes. She had previously resided at Eden Heights in Olean, NY.

Born August 12, 1919 in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arlington and Mary “Mae” Newhall Arnold. She was married on February 6, 1937 to Kenneth W. Taylor, who predeceased her on May 2, 1986.

Arline resided all of her life in the Salamanca and Kill Buck areas and attended Salamanca High School.

For many years, she was employed by Parkview Supermarket, the former Fitzgerald Brothers Department Store, and the former Salamanca District Hospital.

She was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. She had a special place in her heart for animals of all kinds.

Surviving are: two sons, Thomas (Jean) Taylor, Yuma, AZ, James (Sharon) Taylor, Prattsburgh, NY; four grandsons, Royce Taylor, Brent (Brooke) Taylor, both of Boerne, TX, Robert Taylor, Hemlock, NY, Brian (Kristin) Taylor, Harrisburg, NC; a granddaughter, Kerry (Robert) Wall, New Zealand; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Taylor, Noah Taylor, and Olivia Taylor, all of Harrisburg, NC, Bailey Taylor, Boerne, TX; a brother, Francis “Mickey” (Janice) Arnold, Aztec, NM; several nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Susan.

Honoring Mrs. Taylor’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, NY at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the SPCA or the Salamanca Public Library.
