Barry W. Fidurko

Barry W. Fidurko, 75, of Salamanca, NY died Friday evening, April 28, 2023 at the VA Medical Center, Buffalo, NY following a short illness.

Born November 6, 1947 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Walter and Irene Marks Fidurko.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1965 lettering in football and track, and had attended Corning Community College.

Barry was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1967 – 1969 with a tour in Vietnam where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, a Purple Heart, and the Combat Infantry Badge.

He had been employed as a Mason in the Allegany State Park for over 35 years, retiring in 2006.

He was a member of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535, the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296, and the Holy Cross Athletic Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and followed the Buffalo Bills.

Surviving are: a brother, Mark Fidurko, Salamanca, NY; a nephew, Darin (Carrie) Fidurko, Salamanca, NY; a great-niece, Ireland Fidurko; a great-nephew Logan Fidurko.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
