Ben Brunetto
Ben J. Brunetto, age 93, of Salamanca, New York died Tuesday evening, September 29, 2015 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.
Born on January 18, 1922 in Buffalo, New York he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine DiPasquale Brunetto. He was married in 1969 to the former Frances Burlingame who predeceased him on February 28, 2001.
Mr. Brunetto was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre during WWII. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal.
He was employed as a Supervisor for the City of Buffalo Streets Department for 30 years retiring in 1978.
Mr. Brunetto was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9487 in Franklinville, New York where he served as Post Commander, Chapter Chairman/Supervisor of Buffalo Streets Local #264 AFL/CIO, and he also served as the Town Assessor of Farmersville, New York.
Surviving are: a son, Christian Brunetto, Black Creek, New York; a daughter, JoAnn (Michael) Warrior, Salamanca, New York; 8 grandchildren, Cheri (Todd) Lyons, Wilson, New York, Jennifer (Michael) Jordan, Buffalo, New York, Andrew Cornell, Salamanca, New York, Dellayna Brunetto, Salamanca, New York, Ben Hunter Brunetto, Little Valley, New York, Nora Warrior, Marla Warrior, Azayla Warrior, all of Salamanca, New York; 4 great grandchildren; beloved companion, Barbara Knapp, Titusville, PA.
He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Robert Brunetto and a daughter, Diane Marie Constantino.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held in Allegany State Park on a date and time to be announced.
